COPA for KIDS

Our COPA for KIDS fly day is fast approaching. We fly on Sat 17 Sep 16 at the big red brick hangar at Lethbridge Airport. The sign up opens on 16 Aug 16 and closes on 16 Sep 16. COPA For Kids Fly Day

The Lethbridge Sport Flyers/COPA Flight 24 will be holding their 4th Annual COPA For Kids Fly Day. This is a free flight for all kids 8-17 years of age inclusive. They will be flown by very experienced pilots of the Lethbridge Sport Flyers. There will be hotdogs, juice and cookies supplied. Sorry parents, these are for the kids flying only. The Junior Aviators will also receive there very own logbook and a certificate. We would prefer kids living within an hour of Lethbridge, but it is open to anyone. We have a new Vice President

Congratulations to Dwayne, who was elected as our new Vice President at our recent AGM. Mic stays on as President, Sandi stays on as Treasurer, Lauretta stays on as Secretary, Brian stays on as Past President and Al stays on as the webmaster. We are all looking forward to the upcoming year. On another note, our annual Christmas dinner will be held at Luigis on Magrath Drive South. Cocktails at 1800 hr and dinner at 1900 hr.

Fly-In Breakfast

Hi all. Lethbridge Sport Flyers along with the #11 Air Cadets in Lethbridge, will be holding a fly-in breakfast on Sat 26 Sep 15 at Lethbridge County Airport. We have decided to turn over all money raised to the Air Cadets. This is a very good organization for the youth of Lethbridge and we as a group are very much looking forward to supporting them. So come one and all to possibly the last summer breakfast fly-in of the year. Mark Sat 26 Sep 15 on your must do calendar. Thank you in advance for your support. Club Fly Out Getting Closer

Our club fly out is creeping up on us. We have set a date for the fly out. It will commence on Monday 03 Aug 15 and go through until Sunday 09 Aug 15. The trip will mostly be in Saskatchewan, with overnight stops at Maple Creek, either Weyburn or Estevan, Just south of Saskatoon at Corman Airpark and various other spots around the province as day fly outs to return to our overnight airport. The final details are not yet worked out, but stay tuned. This should be a great trip with hotels nearby if you prefer. Stay tuned.

COPA For Kids Junior Aviator Fly Day

We had a wonderful day on Sat 30 May 15. We held our COPA for Kids Junior Aviator Fly Day. At the end of the day we flew 78 kids. The club members came out in force to help and it made the day go very smoothly. A special thank you to Don and Pat from Vulcan, who flew in to help us. I just want to thank all the club members for all their hard work and enthusiasm. The weather did not look promising at the beginning, but the rain soon quit and we had a very pleasant day, with the temperature at a very comfortable 20C. The winds even cooperated. What a great day. Thank you one and all for putting such huge smiles on the kids faces.

Our Club Fly Out

We are in the early stages of planning a member group fly out to Manitoba. We don't know the route yet, but there will be stops in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta. The plan is for a 7 day fly out. We are planning for the last week in July or the first week in August. If you do not own a plane and would like to participate, we will endeavor to find you a seat with a member with a plane. If you are interested in this trip, please fill out the form on the contact us page, so we have an idea how many might be coming. This will be a great trip. I'd love to see most members participate.
